Chelsea have no desire to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues were keen on landing the Frenchman from the Rossoneri last summer, but a deal did not materialise due to differences over the fee.

Maignan ended up staying with Milan despite entering the last year of his contract and he is widely expected to leave on a free transfer next summer.

A recent report claimed that the Blues are back in the race for the former Lille man and are discussing terms over a pre-contract for next season.

This has now been dismissed by Romano, who has clarified that the Blues have not made any sort of contract with the goalkeeper or his agents.

Chelsea have complete faith in Robert Sanchez as the number one while Mike Penders is considered as a future goalkeeper at the west London side.
