Sancho set for United return

Chelsea have reportedly decided against purchasing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho this summer.

The England international signed for the Blues on loan from the Red Devils last summer with a conditional obligation to buy for £25 million.

The clause became active after the Blues finished in the top 14 in the league, but club had the option to pay a penalty fee to come out of the deal.

Chelsea have now decided to pay the amount (£5 million) after they could not convince Sancho to accept a significant paycut on his current wages.

Sancho will return to the Red Devils at the expiry of his loan deal and he is expected to pursue a new challenge in either England or elsewhere in Europe.

He is most likely to end up in the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund remain keen admirers of him and are open to signing him for the third time.

Bayer Leverkusen could make an approach too after parting ways with Florian Wirtz, who is expected to move to Liverpool pretty soon.
