Chelsea leading the chase for Alex Scott’s signature


Chelsea are currently leading the chase for Bournemouth ace Alex Scott, according to a report from The Telegraph.

Making his full England debut during the Three Lions’ record-breaking 7-0 Nations League romp away at Croatia on Saturday evening, Scott is enjoying a real rise to superstardom.

Dominating in the middle of the park and up against former Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric, the 23-year-old is widely regarded as one of England’s hottest young commodities.

Since arriving from Championship outfit Bristol City back in August 2023 for a reported fee of £25million, Scott has immediately taken to Premier League football and finds his stock at a red-hot high.

While Chelsea might have completed a major midfield overhaul at Stamford Bridge over the summer, it has been suggested that the west London hierarchy are keen on adding further additions.

The BBC reported back in July that Chelsea had seen a £64million bid for Scott rejected immediately and Bournemouth made it clear that any further approaches would not be welcomed.

However, while The Telegraph’s report on Sunday might have suggested that Xabi Alonso’s side are leading the chase for Bournemouth’s midfield talisman, the Blues face stiff competition.

Alongside reigning Premier League champions Arsenal, The Telegraph are reporting that fellow English heavyweights Liverpool are keeping a close tabs on proceedings.

Although Bournemouth might have made it clear over the summer that they would not part ways with the ex-Bristol City starlet, there is reportedly a growing acceptance that the two-cap England international will be heading for pastures new over the next year.
