A new Genshin Impact 6.0 leak has emerged just days before the update’s arrival, and the rumored Elemental Reaction nerf it details may be the best change in three years. The popular action RPG by HoYoverse is set to enter its new year of content, taking players to Nod-Krai, a region within Snezhnaya. The Genshin Impact 6.0 update will be the first of many situated in the area.

The patch will add Lauma, Flins, and Aino as the first playable Nod-Krai characters, after Ineffa, who debuted in Version 5.8. Of course, you will meet several other Nod-Krai characters in Genshin Impact 6.0 in the form of NPCs, like Jahoda, Nefer, and Columbina. These are expected to become playable units in the near future. While characters tend to get a lot of attention, there will also be other tweaks to the game.

One of these tweaks may be a nerf to Bloom’s self-damage. The developer didn’t confirm this during the update’s livestream, but the leaker known as HomDGCat mentioned that the self-damage caused by Bloom Dendro Core explosions will be reduced from 5% of the total DMG dealt to enemies to 2%. The leak was shared by user Ryuusei_Dragon on Reddit. Before the leak, however, YouTube user Jamie had already noticed the changes via beta test footage.

Overall, this represents an average of 60% less damage from Dendro Core self-damage. This is a significant nerf to the self-damage, but one that is extremely positive to players, as they will have less trouble staying alive during battles. This change was likely made because of the introduction of Lauma in Genshin Impact 6.0, who will be a Lunar-Bloom specialist. With less self-damage, players will be incentivized to use the Elemental Reaction.

According to the leak, this nerf is also applied to the self-damage caused by Burgeon, Hyperbloom, and Bountiful Cores. One of the main issues with Bloom teams until now has been how tricky it can be to manage your health while dealing damage. The self-damage it deals is much less significant than the damage it deals to enemies.

However, with an abundance of Dendro Cores in the field, along with persistent enemy attacks, the total damage income can be overwhelming, putting a lot of pressure on the team’s healer. Traditionally, as much as Barbara is elementally compatible with Bloom, she has a hard time keeping up with healing the team through the onslaught of damage in Genshin Impact, a lot of which stems from Bloom itself.

If the nerf is true, however, Bloom will become a lot better to deal with for F2P players.
