Bayern Munich move for Anthony Gordon

According to The Times, Bayern Munich have made signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle a top priority for the upcoming summer transfer window. They have already contacted the player’s camp to see if he would be open to the idea, and if he is, they will open talks with Newcastle.

The Bundesliga champions are looking to recruit a versatile, high-quality forward, one who can operate anywhere across the front line and effectively act as cover for Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise – all former Premier League stars as well. Nicolas Jackson, signed on loan from Chelsea last year, is not expected to remain at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern are said to be willing to pay a large fee to secure the services of the 25-year-old England international, valuing them at around €60million, though with four years left on his contract, it remains to be seen if Newcastle agree to a sum in that region.
