Barcelona release Kobe Bryant inspired away kit with Mamba Mentality ahead of 2025-26 campaign

Barcelona have given their 2025-26 away kit a unique twist by blending it with a touch of sporting legend, Kobe Bryant.

The Catalan club have unveiled an official collaboration with the basketball hero’s iconic brand for the new campaign.

The late NBA superstar coined the term “Mamba Mentality” to describe his personal philosophy, which he detailed in his autobiography of the same name.

Five years after the Los Angeles Lakers great passed away, his five-time championship legacy continues to influence future generations, supported by a Nike partnership built to ensure that his mindset and approach endure among rising athletes.

This marks the first time a football club has teamed up with the Kobe Bryant brand.

The collection goes beyond just a jersey – fans can expect sneakers, slides, streetwear and, most notably, Barcelona’s new away strip, all designed with Bryant’s enduring impact in mind.

In this special edition shirt, Bryant’s three-pointed Mamba emblem takes the place of the standard Nike swoosh.

The jersey itself features a pale gold base accented with purple, an homage to the iconic colours worn by the Lakers shooting guard during his prime.

A subtle snakeskin jacquard pattern runs throughout the fabric, giving the kit a protective, armour-like effect.

Even the badge details have been given a distinctive treatment. Both the Barca crest and the Mamba symbol are applied using a textured silicone with the same snakeskin finish.

Completing the kit are black shorts and socks, which also bear the Mamba logo.

To launch the kit, Barcelona released a promotional video in which stars from both the men’s and women’s teams are seen performing their trademark “rondo” passing drill, with players such as Gavi and Alexia Putellas showcasing their ball control while wearing the new design.
