Instead of a simple alarm, Awake provides a lot more. One of the best features is the selectable missions. Sure, it’s easy to hit the snooze button or completely turn off an iPhone alarm, but the missions provide a new twist.

There are two types of tasks you can select from. First are physical missions like rotate the iPhone three times or do pushups. Secondly, you can choose to complete mental missions like solve puzzles, complete math challenges, and more.

The app is also integrated with some unique names for some great missions. For example, thanks to integration with one of my favorite games this year, The Art of Fauna, you’ll solve a quick visual puzzle before the alarm is turned off.

And the alarm can even be customized with loud sounds or more gentle tunes. You can also plan a sleep schedule to improved you rest and adjust snooze settings.

After the alarm is off, the app offers more with full Morning Briefing. You can see the weather, Calendar events, and upcoming tasks from the Structured app. The briefing also integrates with one sec so you can block social media distractions and stay focused.

I’ve been using the app for a few weeks, and it really lives up to its billing. After any of the missions, no matter how tired I thought I was, I’m ready to shake off sleep and get ready for the day.

There is an optional Awake Pro subscription for $13.99 yearly, $4.59 per year, or $45.49 for the lifetime of the app.

Subscribers will unlock all wake-up missions, briefings, alarm sounds. You can also create multiple schedules while being able to shuffle missions and sounds.
