Gibbs-White to Arsenal?

Arsenal have identified Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White as a possible solution if they can’t sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer, according to The Sun.

The Gunners are determined to land a marquee attacker this summer, and Rogers is the top target. However, Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the 23-year-old, and Arsenal could miss out on his services.

Amidst this, The Sun report that Gibbs-White has been earmarked by the Gunners as an alternative target to Rogers following his impressive Premier League season with 15 goals and four assists for Forest.

Gibbs-White came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer before he committed his future to Forest. However, Forest may struggle to convince the 26-year-old to stay put during the ongoing summer.

Still, we doubt whether the Gunners will make an offer for Gibbs-White, given that he is an attacking midfielder by trade. Arsenal‘s primary focus is on strengthening the left wing this summer.

Rogers would be a lucrative solution for the position, but Gibbs-White does not fall into that category. He is a specialist number 10, where Arsenal have Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze and Max Dowman to compete.

The Gunners are more likely to focus on landing a specialist left winger, given that one of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli could be sold.
