Vinicius set for Madrid stay?

Arsenal are expected to miss out on signing Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The Gunners recently identified Vinicius as their priority left-wing target, and it was claimed that they are willing to meet his wage demands.

However, they have now suffered a setback, with Los Blancos prepared to keep Vinicius despite the lack of progress in contact talks.

Vinicius’ current contract expires in June 2027, and he has been reluctant to renew, with Madrid unwilling to meet his wage requirements.

Still, Madrid are ready to start the new season with the 26-year-old and remain optimistic of convincing him to renew later this year.

The news is a potential blow for the Gunners, who are yet to land a marquee left winger, having previously missed out on Morgan Rogers.

Rogers was widely tipped to join the Premier League holders earlier this month, only for Chelsea to beat them to the Aston Villa winger.
