View Arsenal summer 2026 transfer targets
Arsenal are weighing up a fresh move to sign Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Gunners are determined to land a new centre-back in the transfer window following a back injury to William Saliba.
Saliba won’t undergo surgery for the setback, but the Frenchman will still be ruled out for the next few months at least.
Hence, Arsenal want an experienced solution to provide cover, and it is claimed that Konsa is the prime target for them.
The Gunners previously valued Konsa at around £40m, which was significantly lower than the Villans’ £60m price tag.
The Premier League holders are expected to come up with a renewed approach and remain optimistic of striking a deal.
Villa will want a top-class replacement to part ways with Konsa, but the centre-back has given the green light to join Arsenal.
Konsa is seen by Arsenal as a versatile solution, given he can also operate as a right-back. He did so for England at the World Cup.
