Kepa set for Arsenal stay

Arsenal have decided to keep goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga next season despite recent transfer interest from Serie A clubs.

The Spaniard signed for the Gunners from Chelsea last summer after the club triggered a £5 million release clause in his contract.

Arrizabalaga went on to make 12 appearances for the Premier League champions, starting in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

A number of Serie A clubs, including Juventus, have been linked with Arrizabalaga recently, but it seems he may not go anywhere.

Arrizabalaga had a £5m release clause in his Arsenal deal which expired on July 15, and Arsenal are now in a strong position to keep him.

Barring a sizeable transfer bid, the Gunners are preparing for the new season with Arrizabalaga as David Raya‘s deputy in goal.

Arsenal recently signed Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer, but he is only considered the third-choice option.

There is a good possibility that Tommy Setford could be loaned out.
