Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has verbally agreed terms over a new contract, according to journalist Sam C.

The Ghana international had a good 2024/25 campaign with the Gunners. He was able to stay unscathed throughout the season.

His form and fitness has convinced the Gunners to extend his stay. A deal will be confirmed after some minor issues are ironed out.

Sam C wrote on X: “Thomas Partey has now verbally agreed a new Arsenal contract with just minor issues to be ironed out then renewal will be official.”

Arsenal are also on the cusp of landing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. He is expected to be a regular starter.

Partey’s minutes will be significantly reduced by the Spaniard’s arrival, but the Ghanaian has still decided to prolong his stay.

His incoming extension also means that the club don’t need to spend big on another midfielder in the next transfer window.

The Gunners could utilise the funds to bolster their attack. A marquee striker and a versatile winger needs to be signed.
