Arbeloa and De Zerbi tipped to leave Fulham and Tottenham

Alvaro Arbeloa and Roberto De Zerbi have emerged as the early favourites to be the first manager to leave their post in the Premier League this season.

Fulham boss Arbeloa saw his odds cut to 9/4 following the home defeat by Crystal Palace at the weekend while online rumours suggest all is not well off the field at Craven Cottage.

The West London club have yet to register a point this season after also losing to Chelsea and Sunderland in the Premier League.

Arbeloa only joined Fulham over the summer after a largely miserable spell at Real Madrid which resulted in the Spanish giants finishing second behind arch-rivals Barcelona amid dressing room discontent that culminated in a ruck between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.

De Zerbi also under pressure at Tottenham

De Zerbi is undoubtedly on more solid ground having led Tottenham to Premier League survival last season. However, a slow start to the new campaign means he is 4/1 to leave first.

Spurs spent heavily during the transfer window on the likes of Sandro Tonali, Savio and Mateus Fernandes but the results have not yet followed with the weekend draw at Nottingham Forest seeing them pick up a first point.

And while De Zerbi is unlikely to face the sack, the volatile Italian does have a reputation for falling out with directors with disagreements bringing an end to his spells at both Brighton and Marseille.

Aston Villa had a difficult window and had to lose several key players. They are also stuck on one point from three games, heaping the pressure on Unai Emery but the Spaniard is well regarded at Villa Park.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps said: “There’s been a shake up in the sack race betting, with Alvaro Arbeloa and Roberto De Zerbi favoured to leave their posts first following poor results for Fulham and Tottenham.

“Fulham remain pointless following their defeat to Crystal Palace, seeing Arbeloa cut to 9/4 favourite to leave first, whilst De Zerbi has also seen his odds narrow to 4/1, with Spurs only picking up a point in their first three games.
