Aquatic Assault Arrives September 25

Recently, the Gundam franchise has been busy, with several big projects in the works featuring the legendary mecha anime. These include everything from a new anime series to an upcoming video game that should be released next March. Alongside all of these is the growing popularity of the Gundam Card Game (TCG), which has been showcasing some truly stunning-looking cards as well as fun gameplay.

The Gundam TCG originally launched in 2025, but had a bit of a rough start due to product shortages and distribution issues. Despite it having a lot of hype in the beginning, these complications led to prospective players losing interest before they even got started. However, recently the card game has been seeing a bit of a resurgence. Now, on September 25, four types of Starter Decks are being released to help new players get started.

Each of the new Starter Decks will feature a different battle style for players to see what kinds of strategies and methods they enjoy the most. One of these Starter Decks is the “Aquatic Assault Starter Deck” and is made up of Blue-Purple cards that are good in underwater combat.

The Starter Deck will retail for $15.99 MSRP and comes with the following:

  • 1 Preconstructed deck of 50 cards, ready to play immediately.
  • 10 Resource cards.
  • 4 Token cards.
  • 1 Paper damage counter.
  • 1 Rule/Playsheet.
  • 1 Bonus pack to open.

There is also a useful tutorial teaching app that can help people learn how to start playing, so the experience of jumping into the Gundam TCG is as smooth as possible.

Other starter decks for the game include the “Raging Onslaught Starter Deck” that uses a Red-Purple theme focusing on close combat, the Green-White “Heavy Dominion Starter Deck” with heavily armed units, and the “Silent Barrage Starter Deck” with its long-range attack Green-Red cards.

All four of these Starter Decks will release on the same day, September 25, and are currently available for pre-order at many local game stores and online retailers.

Each Starter Deck is only one deck, so for two people to play, they will need to each pick out their own Starter Deck to purchase. However, using these preconstructed decks is only the beginning. After you have the basics down, next comes the fun of purchasing more booster packs of cards and designing your own decks in the style that best suits how you want to approach matches in the Gundam Card Game.
