My birth father has not been in my life since I was a toddler, and I never got to know that side of my family. I had prepared my family tree before, so entering it into Ancestry was very easy. My family tree has over 100 members! The DNA test results, which I received in record time, confirmed what I already knew about my ancestry and added a couple more results that I wasn’t aware of, but make sense. The ability to link to related trees is a terrific tool that we’re still exploring. Potentially relevant documents and records found by Ancestry is a valuable feature although I’ve never purchased any.
I bought one for myself and my mom for Christmas. I took the test first and found my mom’s potential mother and father. The crazy thing is my mother is adopted. Great test because it also brought me more information on my father’s side which I knew a lot about but now I know a lot more. I really liked knowing the percentage of my background for example 35 percent Swedish. If I do this over again I definitely would!
I have tried other ancestry/DNA tests but Ancestry still offers the most accurate one. I like how they keep updating new analyses and that you can add to your family tree/chart. From what I have done in regards to family origins, Ancestry is correct in which countries my family originates from. Will definitely buy and gift again.
