Al-Hilal take a giant leap towards finalising Gabriel Martinelli deal

Al-Hilal have taken a giant leap towards agreeing a permanent deal for Gabriel Marinelli, according to Fabrizio Romano. After intense discussions behind the scenes, it looks like all parties are close to finalising a move for the Brazilian international.

With talks intensifying on Monday afternoon, the Italian transfer guru has reported that a fee in the region of £50million has been discussed and Arsenal are willing to part ways with the 27-cap international.

Not included in Mikel Arteta’s squad for the Gunners’ 3-0 victory at home against Coventry on Friday night, Martinelli was also completely omitted from Arsenal’s Community Shield squad at the Principality on August 26th.

While Arteta might have been filled with praise for the 25-year-old, Arsenal have made it clear to Martinelli and his representatives that that they will sanction a permanent move away from north London before the summer transfer window slams shut.

However, although Al-Hilal might be inching towards agreeing a financial package with the reigning Premier League champions, the former Ituano youngster has not officially given his blessing to a move away from the Emirates.

Romano reported on Monday that the Saudi Arabian giants are in constant dialogue with Martinelli and talks over personal terms are ongoing.

Watching big-money summer arrival Christos Tzolis make an immediate impact since arriving in north London, Martinelli’s future in the English capital has come under serious scrutiny.

Alongside inching closer towards agreeing a blockbuster move for the Brazilian ace, Al-Hilal are also in fierce discussions over another Premier League superstar.

While Simone Inzaghi’s side might have seen four separate bids for England international Ollie Watkins rejected, they remain confident of agreeing a deal and Romano reported over the weekend that the ex-Brentford striker has already agreed on personal terms.
