A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Officially Returns In Winter 2026

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms officially wrapped up filming its second season, putting Dunk and Egg’s highly anticipated return firmly on track for 2027. The quick turnaround comes after the Game of Thrones spinoff became one of HBO’s biggest surprises of the year, earning widespread critical acclaim while proving enormously popular with viewers. Its premiere drew 6.7 million viewers in its first three days, while the Season 1 finale climbed to 9.5 million, capping off a remarkably successful debut run.

Season 2 will once again follow Peter Claffey’s Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell’s Egg, this time adapting George R.R. Martin’s second Dunk and Egg novella, The Sworn Sword. Their next adventure trades the tournament at Ashford for a smaller but equally dangerous conflict in the Reach, where Dunk enters the service of Ser Eustace Osgrey and becomes caught in his dispute with the formidable Lady Rohanne Webber, better known as the Red Widow.

However, ahead of season 2’s official launch next year, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is getting an official new release in winter 2026 (via SciFi Hobby).

In an upcoming release from Rittenhouse Archives, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is getting a full Season 1 set of Trading Cards sometime in Winter 2026. While official details are still rather sparse, based on the other Game of Thrones sets from Rittenhouse, the AKOTSK release will feature a trove of unique characters from the series that will likely be signed by the official actors themselves.

Rittenhouse has not yet revealed a checklist, box configuration, price, or exact release date beyond the Winter 2026 window, but its previous Westeros collections give a fairly good indication of what collectors could eventually see. The company’s House of the Dragon Season 1 set featured a 50-card base collection alongside autograph cards, costume relics, foil versions, character galleries, artist renditions, episode posters, relationship cards, location cards, and hand-drawn sketches.

Every box contained one autograph and two relic cards, with all of the advertised autographs signed on-card by actors including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, and Olivia Cooke. The upcoming House of the Dragon Season 2 release, scheduled for September 30, guarantees two autograph cards and one relic per box, with a hand-drawn sketch card appearing in every case. Its autograph lineup stretches well beyond the show’s central stars to supporting performers such as Clinton Liberty, Kieran Bew, Phoebe Campbell, and Elliott Tittensor.

Recent Game of Thrones releases have included everything from wardrobe cards and numbered parallels to character-focused inserts, metal cards, episode artwork, and sketches. That makes Dunk and Egg obvious candidates for the centerpiece of the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms collection, potentially with autograph cards from Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell.

Beyond the two stars, Season 1 offers an unusually strong supporting lineup for Rittenhouse to pull from. Daniel Ings’ Lyonel Baratheon, Bertie Carvel’s Baelor Breakspear, Sam Spruell’s Maekar Targaryen, and Finn Bennett’s Aerion Brightflame would all make sense, particularly given their importance to the Ashford tournament and the Trial of Seven. Further, Tanzyn Crawford’s Tanselle, Shaun Thomas’ Raymun Fossoway, and Danny Webb’s Ser Arlan of Pennytree are other likely possibilities, while Henry Ashton’s Daeron Targaryen and Edward Ashley’s Steffon Fossoway could very well make an appearance too.

That said, no cards have been confirmed yet, but Rittenhouse’s history of spotlighting both major and supporting characters makes a broad Season 1 roster likely, and it will be a timely release given A Knight of the Seven Kingdom‘s Season 2 will air in a matter of months after the card sets drop.
