2024 marked the 85th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, and on January 14, 2026, Dynamite will team with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to bring a brand-new graphic novel adaptation of the legendary cinematic treasure to a new generation of fans.
This unique adaptation of the 1939 film will be written and illustrated by Soo Lee (Disney Villains: Maleficent, ThunderCats: Cheetara), following the classic story of the fantastical journey undertaken by a young girl named Dorothy and her dog, Toto.

The Wizard of Oz graphic novel will come in at 128 pages and will be available in both hardcover and trade paperback, priced at $22.99 and $17.99, respectively. Readers who support the graphic novel via its Kickstarter page will also find that certain tier goals, if met financially, will result in exclusive Wizard of Oz collectibles.
The official synopsis for the graphic novel reads: “Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through her small Kansas town and whisks her and Toto far away to the magical land of Oz. To find her way home, she must follow the Yellow Brick Road to Emerald City and seek help from its mysterious all-knowing Wizard.”
It continues: “Together with her new companions — the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion — Dorothy embarks on an unforgettable adventure, with challenges and discoveries waiting around every corner.” In addition to an unforgettable story told by Soo Lee, fans can also expect gorgeous cover art by Jae Lee, Alex Ross, and Eric Shanower for this exciting new Wizard of Oz project.
