Bayer Leverkusen are very interested in signing Arsenal target Joan Garcia at the end of the campaign, according to Sport.

The Gunners are long-term admirers of the Spaniard and they wanted to sign him as a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale last summer.

The club could not negotiate a fee with Espanyol before the transfer deadline, but the La Liga outfit are willing to discuss later this year.

It is now reported that Leverkusen have joined the pursuit of the 23-year-old and they are very interested in securing his services.

Garcia has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners, but he is only seen as a back-up option behind David Raya in goal.

On the other hand, Leverkusen could consider him as a potential number one with Lukas Hradecky set to enter the last year of his deal.

Hradecky, 35, has been a phenomenal performer for the Bundesliga giants, but Leverkusen are looking into the future with Garcia.
