Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Peacemaker season 2, episode 1
Peacemaker season 2 has finally arrived, debuting several new characters into the new DCU. Starring John Cena’s Peacemaker as he enters a whole new kind of misadventure, several new characters have joined the second season’s cast. Likewise, viewers have already been treated to multiple comic characters getting confirmed for this new universe in the season premiere alone.
Following the Justice Gang’s rejection, Peacemaker season 2, episode 1 finds Chris Smith struggling to find new purpose, despite saving the world from aliens in season 1. However, Chris then discovers a seemingly better reality in the multiverse. With that in mind, here are all the new DC Comics characters confirmed for the DCU after Peacemaker season 2’s premiere.
Kite-Man
At the very beginning of Peacemaker season 2, we see Chris Smith telling a group of students about the time he allegedly defeated Kite-Man. Real name Charles “Chuck” Brown, Kite-Man is one of the most ridiculous and yet beloved Batman foes of all time, especially after the release of his own animated series, having spun off from HBO’s Harley Quinn.
Toymaker
The Batman villain known as the Toymaker seems to have been confirmed for the DCU through the appearance of an abandoned Krank Toys toystore (the building where Peacemaker has his Justice Gang interview).
Not to be confused with the Superman villain Toyman or Doctor Who’s Toymaker, the Toymaker debuted in 2004’s The Batman animated series, the former CEO of Krank Toys, who turns to supervillainy. A Krank Toys factory was featured in Batman: Arkham City, while a live-action Toymaker was featured in Fox’s Gotham series, played by Abbot Elementary’s Chris Perfetti.
White Rabbit
Exiting Krank Toys right before Smith enters, White Rabbit makes her DCU debut in Peacemaker season 2, albeit in tears following her own rejection by the Justice Gang. In the comics, White Rabbit is a socialite turned Batman foe who was once a member of Mad Hatter’s Wonderland Gang. On the page, she possesses the power to duplicate herself.
Sasha Bordeaux
Sasha Bordeaux also makes her DCU debut as an agent of ARGUS, reporting directly to the organization’s new director, Rick Flag Sr.
Played by Sol Rodríguez, Sasha Bordeaux was an agent of Checkmate in the original comics. She was also a former love interest of both Batman and Mister Terrific, and eventually became a cyborg as well. However, it remains to be seen if any of those comic elements will make it into her DCU portrayal.
Rainbow Creature
The second time Chris visits the alternate reality via the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, he sees all the trophies and framed newspaper headlines featuring this other Peacemaker’s life alongside his father and brother (both of whom are still alive).
Fighting crime together as “The Top Trio”, one of the newspapers confirms that the father and sons once defeated DC Comics’ “Rainbow Creature”, a deep-cut Batman & Robin villain who has various powers based on the colors of its body, having made its first appearance back in 1960.
Ultra-Humanite
A second newspaper headline confirms the Top Trio once saved Gotham City from the Ultra-Humanite.
One of Superman’s first recurring supervillains even before Lex Luthor, the Ultra-Humanite is a metahuman who could transplant his genius-level brain into other bodies (for the most part residing within a giant albino gorilla). The Ultra-Humanite was created by original Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, with a first appearance dating back to June 1939.
Red St. Wild
While he’s yet to appear in Peacemaker season 2 proper, Michael Rooker’s brand-new DC character does appear in the opening dance number.
Confirmed to be an eagle hunter named Red St. Wild, it does not appear as though Wild is based on any original DC Comics character. However, Red St. Wild has been described as “Eagly’s Lex Luthor” with trailers teasing that he has some powers.
This isn’t Rooker’s first DC role either, having played Savant in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (who died in the movie’s opening act). This is similar to Nathan Fillion’s The Detachable Kid who also died in The Suicide Squad, and is now playing Green Lantern’s Guy Gardner in the new DCU.
Alt Reality White Dragon (& Keith)
In the main DC reality, Chris accidentally killed his brother Keith when their father forced them to fight for money. Likewise, Chris killed his father in Peacemaker season 1, ending DC’s racist supervillain known as the White Dragon once and for all.
However, it seems Auggie and Keith are alive and well in this other reality Chris has discovered. Not only that, but the three of them appear to be a loving family of superheroes. While it’s yet to be revealed what their codenames are, Auggie’s suit is notably more blue, suggesting he goes by a different name other than White Dragon.
