Jensen Ackles hinted about appearing alongside his wife in the upcoming One Tree Hill reboot. One Tree Hill is getting a sequel series, and fans are buzzing about who could appear in the updated series being developed for Netflix. So far, only Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are confirmed to be reappearing.
Danneel Ackles, née Harris, who played Rachel Gatina in the original series, has signed on as an executive producer, leading fans to wonder if she or her actor husband, Jensen Ackles of Supernatural fame, will also be making an appearance in the series. In response to that question, Ackles said (via YouTube),
“No plans for me just yet, but I have a feeling I won’t get away that easy.”
It Doesn’t Seem Like Ackles Has Big Plans To Appear In The Show
Jensen Ackles seemed legitimately surprised to be asked about appearing in the One Tree Hill reboot on the red carpet for his series Countdown, suggesting that he had not thought about it. This likely means there have been no discussions about him appearing in the show.

His real attachment to the series is through his wife, and for starring in another CW series that aired at the same time as One Tree Hill. Previously, Jensen and Danneel produced The Winchesters with Chaos Machine, a prequel to Jensen’s Supernatural. However, Danneel did not appear in that series, suggesting that just because they’re attached as producers doesn’t mean they intend to act in something. Jensen seems to be happy to do what Danneel needs.
Ackles Would Be A Welcome Addition To The One Tree Hill Reboot
Jensen Ackles is clearly not giving his most thoughtful answer to the question about appearing in One Tree Hill. He seems happy enough to answer the question, but it’s obviously not something on his mind at the moment. His comment about “I won’t get away that easily” suggests he’ll do what his wife asks.
Jensen wants the One Tree Hill reboot to be as successful as anyone else.
It also suggests that he’s somewhat uninterested in appearing in the show, but at the same time, would be all for a smaller role if the show required it. His production company is involved after all. Jensen wants the One Tree Hill reboot to be as successful as anyone else. If that requires him to act, so be it.
Ackles always brings an energetic performance to whatever series he’s a part of, whether he’s playing Soldier Boy in The Boys or Mark Meachum in Countdown. If he appeared in One Tree Hill, even for just a cameo, it would likely be a welcome arc. Hopefully, Danneel will give him the prod he needs to appear.
