Chelsea head to Poland tonight looking to claim a first-leg lead in their Conference League quarter-final against Legia Warsaw.

The Blues are still in contention to qualify for next season’s Champions League via their league position but Enzo Maresca knows his standing at Stamford Bridge would be enhanced significantly by clinching a European trophy.

Chelsea drew 0-0 at Brentford on Sunday but ought to be too strong for a Legia side that have won just one of their last four in the domestic Ekstraklasa.

Legia boss Goncalo Feio has made two changes to the side that won 2-1 at Gornik Zabrze at the weekend.

Steve Kapuadi replaces Jan Ziółkowski at the heart of the back four while forward Ilya Shkurin makes way for the more defensive-minded midfielder Max Oyedele.

Brazilian forward Luquinhas, who scored both goals against Gornik, retains his place in the starting XI.

Filip Jorgensen replaces Robert Sanchez in goal while Cole Palmer comes in to make just his second start in this competition.

There are also places for Benoit Badiashile and youngsters Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George.
