“They are legends, both Virat bhaiya and Rohit bhaiya. Not just me, but the entire nation hopes that they play in the World Cup and are part of the team that goes on to win it. It would be a huge moment for the whole country, as who knows, it could be their last World Cup. So, it would be huge if they can win it for India,” Rinku said as quoted by ANI.
Rohit and Virat have been central figures in India’s limited-overs cricket for more than a decade. Their experience and performances have made them among the most recognisable players in the sport.

Rinku also pointed towards India’s long wait for another ODI World Cup triumph. The Men in Blue last lifted the prestigious trophy in 2011 on home soil, meaning the team has now gone through several World Cup cycles without adding another ODI title to its collection.

The team went through the tournament unbeaten in the league stage and reached the final, but Australia emerged victorious in the title clash. Rinku believes winning the 2027 World Cup would therefore carry enormous significance for both Rohit and Virat.
“It would be huge for them as well, because we haven’t won the World Cup in a long time. We last won it in 2011. So, we hope both of them are with the team, and that they lift that trophy,” added Rinku.
