West Indies Women have announced their squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, which will feature three ODIs and three T20Is between September 24 and October 7, 2026. The squad largely retains the core group that featured during the successful tour of Ireland and the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales, although there are a few notable changes across the two formats.

Captain Hayley Matthews will lead the side during the ODI series before taking personal leave and leaving the squad ahead of the T20I leg. Veteran all-rounder Deandra Dottin will also be unavailable after being granted personal leave.

Hayley Matthews continues to lead in ODIs

Matthews remains at the centre of West Indies’ plans for the ODI portion of the Zimbabwe tour and will captain the team during the three-match series. Her departure afterward, however, means the squad will be reduced from 15 players to 14 for the T20I matches.

The series comes at an important stage for the West Indies Women as they continue building their squads across both formats. Their recent performances in Ireland and at the T20 World Cup have provided a strong foundation, with the team opting to retain much of its established group rather than make widespread changes. Alongside Matthews, the ODI squad includes experienced names such as Stafanie Taylor, Shemaine Campbelle, Afy Fletcher and Karishma Ramharack, while several younger players remain part of the setup.

Eboni Brathwaite replaces Deandra Dottin

One of the key changes is the inclusion of Eboni Brathwaite, who has been brought into the squad as Dottin’s replacement. The all-rounder is also regarded as an Under-19 World Cup prospect and now receives an opportunity to step into the senior setup for the Zimbabwe assignment.

Meanwhile, Chinelle Henry makes her return after an injury affected her participation during the T20 World Cup. Her comeback provides another option for the West Indies across the upcoming six-match tour. Henry replaces Qiana Joseph, who has not been selected following a drop in form. The change represents one of the few alterations to a squad that otherwise maintains considerable continuity following the team’s recent international commitments.

The Zimbabwe tour will give the West Indies Women valuable match exposure in both ODI and T20I cricket. The three ODIs will be followed by three T20Is, allowing the side to continue developing its options while maintaining the core of the group that has been involved in recent campaigns. The ODI squad consists of 15 players, with Matthews leading the team before her departure. The T20I group will subsequently feature 14 players.
