Red Dead Redemption 2 Free Reward Available To Claim Until August 31

Red Dead Redemption 2 is such an incredible game, that when it comes to more recent releases like Resident Evil Requiem and Crimson Desert, Rockstar’s Western is still the yardstick by which these newer games are measured. Mercifully, GTA 6 will be out soon, though, so gamers can start comparing every game that comes out to that instead of the 2018 masterpiece. That’ll make a nice change.

Of course, the real crime (aside from leaking footage of GTA 6 on the internet) is that Rockstar Games doesn’t support its beloved Western as much as it should. Even so, we take what we can get, which brings me to the latest limited-time free rewards you can grab right now in Red Dead Redemption 2‘s genuinely brilliant and poorly served Online mode.

While GTA Online is obviously Rockstar’s prize cow, Red Dead Online still gets the occasional update, and you can usually find something new to do, if you just log in at the right times.

This month in Red Dead Online, you can assist the reclusive author, Theodore Levin, by investigating rumors of paranormal and supernatural misdeeds, or by executing vengeful plots and thefts.

From now until the end of August, Red Dead Online Telegram Missions — including A Tough Business, Skelding’s Contract, Strange Tales of the West — are paying 3X RDO$, XP, and Gold. All you need to do is collect incoming Telegrams from your local Post Office or your Camp Lockbox, then open your Satchel and navigate to Documents to launch them.

However, that’s not all. Throughout the month, you can claim free pieces of an exclusive outfit. Log in anytime through August 31 to receive the Frontiersman Hat and discover two Collectibles any week this month to get the Frontiersman Gloves. I will say, the opportunity to get the pants, belt, boots, and half chaps has been and gone. Ditto for the shirt and suspenders. However, you can still grab the aforementioned hat and gloves before August 31.

Rank 20 Collectors can also log in before August 31 to receive the Frontiersman Neckerchief. And if you win in the Featured Series, you’ll grab a free Reward for the Burned Town Treasure Map.

While it’s not exactly the single-player DLC we all want from Red Dead Redemption 2, it does represent an excuse to jump back into one of the best open worlds in video game history, so I wouldn’t turn your nose up at it, boah.
