With the majority of the internet closely following leaks about Grand Theft Auto VI, it might surprise Nintendo fans to learn that we’ve had a leak regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Forget Cyberleek! There’s a huge fan base who consider Grand Theft Auto VI a mere inconvenience and their eyes are firmly on a retelling of the classic hero’s journey from the creative mind of Shigeru Miyamoto. We now have a release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake… let’s get into it!

According to a new listing on the storefront Wog.ch, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake will officially release on December 1, 2026. The release date has since been pulled from the website but not before being seen by many and reported on. Retailers often have insider information like release dates before the public as it helps them co-ordinate marketing and synchronize with other retailers to release games on time. Although the release date was clearly posted by mistake, it is most likely the correct date and not just a blind error.

When Is The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Releasing?

With no official announcement for the next Nintendo Direct, it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer to confirm the release date officially. But, with experts tipping that the next Nintendo Direct will take place in September, we don’t have long to wait. Hopefully, the next Nintendo Direct will be solely dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, with fans longing for some gameplay footage and perhaps a tasty reveal or two. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get to see Link pulling the Master Sword from its plinth for the first time!

A release date of December 1, 2026, makes a lot of sense. Clearly, November 19 and the weeks shouldering it are a no-go. Grand Theft Auto VI and its launch window are something every other games publisher is avoiding, like the plague. If The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake were to launch ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, it’d be amazing, but it leaves almost no time for a proper marketing campaign. Releasing after, makes a lot more sense and an official release date announcement in September seems all but inevitable.

There are, of course, some doubters, as December 1, 2026, is a Tuesday and typically Nintendo doesn’t release games on a Tuesday. Also, the release of new Amiibo’s is happening on November 12, 2026, and this often ties in with the release of a new game. So is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake arriving on December 1, 2026, or November 12, 2026, or perhaps a different date entirely? Until Nintendo officially announces the release date, we won’t know for certain.

The original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme was a 10/10 masterpiece for the N64 and us fans are eagerly anticipating the remake. With the expected next Nintendo Direct mere days away, hopefully we’ll get a huge look at this upcoming adventure game that’ll blow us all away. With it being the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise, there’s never been a better time to be a Nintendo Switch 2 owner. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake might just pull the spotlight away from Grand Theft Auto VI this holiday season. GOTY contender perhaps? Watch this space!
