Everton are in the race to sign Wrexham player Callum Doyle this summer, with a transfer fee in the region of £10 million suggested for the youngster. The former England under-21 defender is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League outfit, having come through the ranks at Man City.

Wrexham were very close to Premier League promotion last year, but ultimately missed out toward the end of the campaign and now Doyle is said to be desperate for a transfer to the England top flight.

Everton manager David Moyes has been in discussions with his scouting team to identify defensive prospects and has been impressed with the peformances of the centre-back.

He has three years remaining on his deal with Wrexham, but the club are open to a sale should their asking price be matched, understood to be close to £10 million.

The Toffees have Jarrad Branthwaite returning to action after a lengthy injury, but Moyes wants to add reinforcements before the season kicks off.
