Harley Quinn’s New Redesign Is a Gift to DC Cosplayers

If you’re a Harley Quinn cosplayer looking to spice up your look, especially ahead of Comic-Con season, then you’ll want to check out DC Comics’ latest redesign for the Gotham City Siren. This redesign features just one major tweak that can be applied to almost any Harley Quinn costume, instantly making it stand out. The best part is that if you already have a Harley Quinn costume, this simple design change is extremely affordable and time-effective.

Writer Elliott Kalan returns with the latest installment of his ongoing Harley Quinn run in issue #63, which continues The Harq Knight Returns storyline. If you haven’t been keeping up with DC Comics, you might not know that Harley recently took on the identity of Batquinn, a superhero alter ego adopted by the Siren in Harley Quinn #60. This transformation came in the aftermath of the conclusion of DC’s latest crisis event, DC K.O.

The event saw DC’s heroes and villains, thanks to Superman, become imbued with Alpha Energy, which ultimately helped the heroes defeat King Omega Darkseid. However, following the event, Harley’s residual Alpha Energy cleaved her personality apart, causing her signature chaotic side to take on a Batman-inspired vigilante role, while her strict, intellectual side created its own separate physical body and adopted the identity of Quinntellect.

This Quinntellect form initially took on the appearance of Harley during her days as a psychiatrist, though with the twist of having a bright pink-colored body. Now, Harley Quinn #63 introduces a new development for Quinntellect that makes it clear that the character’s design is perfect for any Harley Quinn cosplayer looking to stand out.

Elliott Kalan and artist Carlos Olivares’ Harley Quinn #63 sees Quinntellect fully embrace her villainous side as she dons what had been Harley’s latest main continuity look before taking on the Batquinn identity. The outfit features a black-and-red teddy garment with chest cutouts, a sheer purple top underneath, matching leggings, thigh-high black leather boots, and full-length matching arm gloves.

While fans have already seen the normal Harley Quinn wear this outfit, Quinntellect’s bright pink skin completely transforms the look, providing a brilliant piece of canon inspiration for anyone looking to spice up their Harley Quinn cosplay: pink skin. It’s a simple design element that can be applied to almost any Harley Quinn costume, making it an extremely easy addition that creates a completely different appearance.

This means that whether cosplayers own a classic Harley Quinn costume, have gone the Margot Robbie route, or have donned any of the Siren’s varied looks, they can completely transform their cosplay with some pink body paint. Not only would this help cosplayers stand out, but it would also serve as an epic conversation starter, as there will undoubtedly be plenty of fans drawn in and curious about Harley Quinn’s pink skin look.
