Steam Drops 3 Free Downloads You Have Until July 27 To Claim

Steam has really been making strides in the past decade. A lot of little updates have added up into full-on features, and even though things like the open refund policy might be contentious among developers, fans are loving the platform. It’s no wonder why so many people choose to stay loyal to it, and Steam continues to stay a dominant force in the PC industry.

But amid all that, you can get some freebies now, in the form of three free downloads off Steam. You just need to grab them before the end of July 27, when they’re gone.

Over on Steam now, you can get three downloads that are linked to the Steam Train Fest sales event. There’s a “Chug Along” animated avatar (featuring a train going down a track on a bridge) that’s 3,000 Steam Points. Then there’s the “Full Steam” animated avatar frame for 2,000 Steam Points. Finally, the “All Aboard” animated sticker is available for 1,000 Steam Points. If you really love trains, you can go all-in with 6,000 Steam Points and grab them all, decorating your profile in the process.

As a reminder, Steam Points are earned through shopping or through Steam community contributions. You’ll get 100 points for every $1 you spend, and that offer includes all purchases, including DLC and hardware. Badges, chat items, backgrounds, frames, and animated avatars are all up for grabs, and the Point Shop is now open “all year round” rather than a seasonal drop. There is one privoso though: nothing here is marketable or tradeable. Thankfully, Steam Points don’t expire.

If you have no interest in buying cosmetics for your account, there are other ways to offload your points, according to Valve: “If you don’t find anything that you really want in the Points Shop, you can always use your points to grant an award to a user review, showing others how valuable you think that review is. This award will be shown publicly on the review.”

Steam’s Train Fest sale event will run through July 27, and is celebrating all things trains. Key games include Train Sim World 6 (which is currently 80% off), as well as Denshattack, and Derail Valley Simulator. Other older games like Captain of Industry and Victoria 3 are also in.

Even if you’re not a train fan, the sale is worth checking out on Steam. For instance, Denshattack is mostly an action-oriented game where you happen to control a train, so it’s not all simulators.
