White fit for new season

Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost ahead of the Premier League curtain-raiser against Coventry City next month.

The Gunners won the Premier League title after 22 years and they will begin their defence against Coventry at home on August 21.

Ahead of the encounter, they have received a timely boost with Ben White confirming that he is fully fit after his recent knee injury.

The England international suffered the setback against West Ham United in May and was subsequently ruled out of the World Cup.

Speaking to Arsenal‘s media today, White revealed that he has recovered from his setback and has been training over the past week.

The news is a huge boost for the Gunners, given right-back Jurrien Timber is still recuperating from a nagging groin injury, as confirmed by him.

White has been touted to leave the north London giants, but he could end up staying after an unfortunate injury setback for William Saliba.

White has largely played as a right-back during his time at Arsenal, but he is originally a centre-back by trade and can provide cover for Saliba.
