Rohit scripts history despite England sealing the ODI series

England posted a mammoth 387/3 after electing to bat first in the series decider. Ben Duckett led the charge with a magnificent 141, while Jacob Bethell narrowly missed out on a century with a fluent 91. Joe Root remained unbeaten on 74, and Jos Buttler provided the finishing touches with a blistering 41* off just 13 deliveries.

India responded with plenty of intent through Rohit, who produced a sensational 138 off 110 balls, smashing 17 fours and five sixes. Shubman Gill played an elegant knock of 77, while Virat Kohli added a classy 74 to keep India’s hopes alive during the chase.

However, England held their nerve in the closing stages to bowl India out for 360, securing a 27-run victory and clinching the three-match ODI series 2-1. Despite the defeat, Rohit’s innings will be remembered for years to come, as he became the first Indian batter to score an ODI century at Lord’s while registering his eighth ODI hundred on English soil.
