It has been an exciting few weeks for Grand Theft Auto VI fans with plenty of official updates to sink our teeth into. Not only did pre-orders go live back in June, but it also came alongside the news of two editions of the highly anticipated Rockstar title: Standard and Ultimate. However, with the Standard edition leaving plenty of in-game content locked, players will have to spend up to $100 if they wish to have access to all areas of the single-player title.
That being said, plenty is still unknown about Grand Theft Auto VI. At the time of writing, there has been no sign of a third trailer, especially one dedicated to gameplay only, and we are still in the dark about how big the game will actually be when it comes to download size. With the Rockstar title expected to be the most ambitious open-world game of all time, we can expect those gigabytes to be on the larger side. As such, it makes sense that users will be able to preload the game ahead of its 19 November launch.
Luckily, preloading will be an option, at least according to Rockstar. By pre-ordering the game, you will have to chance to preload Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of 19 November, allowing you to waste no time diving in as soon as it is released. Available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users, preloading will officially go live on 12 November.
According to Rockstar Games, those who purchase digital copies of Grand Theft Auto VI (like there is any other option right now), will be able to start preloading the game on 12 November, exactly one week before the game’s launch. They will begin at midnight local time, and regardless of how big the file size is, it will give you plenty of time to be prepared come 19 November.
Not only that, but with the preload schedule being the same for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users, everybody will be ready to go as long as the download has finished by release day.
However, if you have purchased the “physical” edition of Grand Theft Auto VI, you will have to wait to receive the empty box complete with download code in order to begin preloading the game. As such, if your copy is delayed, you may not have the same advantage as those purchasing digital copies.
Not only is preloading a good way to get stuck into Grand Theft Auto VI straight away, it will also give you ample opportunity to clear out your storage beforehand. We can only imagine that the upcoming Rockstar game will come alongside an eye-watering file size, so this gives us time to be prepared at least.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November.
