View Man City summer 2026 transfer targets
Chelsea have reportedly received around £17 million in compensation for manager Enzo Maresca‘s departure to Manchester City.
The Blues parted ways with Maresca from the head coach role earlier this year but he remained under contract with the club.
Man City started discussing his release in early June and have now agreed to pay around £17m to secure his services from the Blues.
Maresca had his mind set on joining Man City after Pep Guardiola personally conveyed the decision to leave the club this summer.
He has now got his wish and the Cityzens are widely expected to back the Italian with a huge spending spree to bolster the squad.
Man City have not won the Premier League in the last two seasons and will be determined to come on top in the next campaign.
They have already secured a statement signing in Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest and there could be several more to come.
