PlayStation has dropped a new freebie on the PS Store that can be claimed by anyone on the platform, without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription. Most of what is considered a freebie on Sony’s gaming platform is also often locked behind a membership. Every month, subscribers get access to tons of new games to play for free. Just recently, Sony announced the free games for PS Plus in June, which contain a variety of titles, including Grounded Fully Yoked Edition.
Even so, these free game options aren’t available for every player on the PlayStation network, since they require memberships. However, the company has announced a new freebie that all players can grab on the PlayStation Store, without necessarily being subscribed to PS Plus. All they have to do is head on over to the product page and claim it. Once this is done, the freebie is added to your PlayStation library permanently, from where it can be downloaded.
The freebie in question is called Shujinkou Manga Reader. This is not a game, per se, although PlayStation does classify it as such on the storefront. This is an online manga reader app that everyone can download. With it, they can read official manga stories in the Shujinkou franchise, as well as get access to music and other features. For those who don’t know, Shujinkou is an underrated JRPG franchise that deserves some attention.
For players who have checked out any Shujinkou games, this is a mighty complement to the stories and lore built in the series. For those who haven’t, this online manga reader app allows you to dive into the story and, perhaps, get you interested in checking the games out. This freebie for PlayStation is but one of many that often appear on the storefront, so even if this particular one doesn’t have you interested, you can check out other free additions for players.
For example, PlayStation dropped a free game for all members of the platform, without the need for a PS Plus subscription, earlier this month. Alternatively, you can check out a first-person shooter called Blindfire entirely for free. Looking at free options that aren’t tied to subscriptions seems to be a good option now.
This is in light of the most recent price hike for PS Plus, which has been an unpleasant piece of news for members. As such, freebies that aren’t locked behind a membership may be viable for any of those who are considering leaving the service. There are always new freebies on PlayStation that don’t require PS Plus, so be sure to keep checking the storefront every once in a while.
