The magical moment came during Kolkata’s chase when the hosts were trying to rebuild after losing wickets in the middle overs. Rovman Powell attempted to push for a quick run to keep the scoreboard moving, but Rizvi reacted instantly from long-off. Charging onto the ball at full speed, Rizvi fired in a sharp throw towards the non-striker’s end. The ball hit the stumps directly, catching Powell short of his crease despite his desperate dive back.

The accuracy and speed of the throw immediately sparked celebrations among the Delhi players, while the crowd also applauded the athletic effort. Such direct hits from the deep are never easy, especially in pressure situations, making the effort even more special.

Delhi Capitals dominate KKR in final league match

Earlier in the evening, KL Rahul played a destructive innings of 60 runs off just 30 deliveries to guide Delhi Capitals to a commanding total of 203/5. Captain Axar Patel also made an important contribution with a quickfire 39, while David Miller added late momentum in the death overs. For KKR, young pacer Saurabh Dubey impressed with figures of 2/28.

In reply, KKR started aggressively through Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane, but Delhi’s bowlers gradually tightened their grip on the game. Kuldeep Yadav turned the contest decisively by dismissing Rahane and Rinku Singh in consecutive deliveries. The run out of Powell further dented Kolkata’s hopes as they eventually folded for 163 in 18.4 overs, handing Delhi a comfortable 40-run victory to end their season on a winning note.
