The Agency Season 2 Release Window Reportedly Revealed

The Agency season 2 may well be debuting new episodes very soon.

Inspired by the French Le Bureau des Legendes, with Fassbender in the lead role of CIA officer Martian, the high-stakes thriller was created by the sibling duo of Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. It premiered on Paramount+ and Showtime in December 2024, earning a quick renewal thanks to strong viewership and a notable cast of The Agency that also includes Jodie-Turner Smith, Jeffrey Wright, and Richard Gere.

As part of the Matt’s Inside Line newsletter, veteran reporter Matt Webb Mitovich responded to a reader question and revealed that The Agency season 2 is eying an early summer premiere. A more specific date was not mentioned, and Paramount+ has not confirmed a release date, though the second installment announced casting and filming by June 2025 and is on track for a return.

In its first ten episodes, the spy adaptation looked at how Martian was called to abandon his undercover life and return to his post at London Station. Martian has a hard enough time adjusting to his normal life, including connecting with his daughter, after years of being undercover. The situation is made even more complicated when one of Martian’s past loves (played by Turner-Smith) resurfaces.

The Agency‘s season 1 finale highlights how far Martian is willing to go for his past love, putting his own reputation with the CIA at risk. The upcoming episodes will continue down that path, although the Paramount+ and Showtime hit has received a slight name change. It is now known as The Agency: Central Intelligence.

The show’s return will welcome The Crown star Amir El-Masry in the recurring role of Saeed, an intelligence officer from the United Arab Emirates, with new additions to the ensemble including Christian Ochoa Lavernia, Clayne Crawford, Keanush Tafreshi, Medalion Rahimi, Raza Jaffrey and Tessa Ferrer.
