Cyberpunk 2077 Fans Losing It Over Official New Edgerunners DLC

It was back in 2022 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners took the world by storm when the Cyberpunk 2077–inspired anime arrived on Netflix. Set in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077, but following a new cast of characters, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners followed the story of a street kid called David who, after losing everything, decides to become an Edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw in a city obsessed with technology and body-modification. Joined by a brand-new team of eclectic characters, Edgerunners offered Cyberpunk 2077 a brand-new look at Night City and the horrors that exist within it.

Due to its popularity, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was soon greenlit for a second season, which was announced back in July 2025 but, in the meantime, it seems as though fans have something else to look forward to.

Announced earlier this week, the hit open-world gacha game Wuthering Waves has announced its collaboration with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The free-to-play gacha title was first launched back in 2024 with developers Kuro Games revealing that it was inspired by games such as Death Stranding to create a world where players can experience the fusion of “new and old civilizations.” Since its launch, Wuthering Waves has become one of the go-to gacha games, much like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, and as such, it is no surprise that it has decided to collaborate with one of the biggest franchises of modern times.

“Good morning, Solaris!” The announcement social media post read. “Come, wander with me through the ever-unceasing dream.” With the news that the Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration is “arriving soon”, the announcement came alongside a trailer showcasing all of the new and exciting content players can look forward to. Most importantly, it seems as though Cyberpunk: Edgerunner‘s David, Lucy, and Rebecca will all be arriving to Wuthering Waves. Featuring designs much akin to their anime versions, it is hard not to be impressed, and fans took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Oh my god, it’s looking way too good,” one user shared. “I like how David is there in the end.” Another agreed, adding, “Both Lucy and Rebecca models look perfect!” Another summed it up perfectly when they said, “This looks like it’s going to be well worth the wait. Saving to “whale” for my Edgerunner girls.”

From what I can tell, both Lucy and Rebecca will be available as playable characters, yet David has an unidentified role in the collaboration, but hopefully this means that he and Lucy will be able to head to the moon after all. Not only that, but the official Wuthering Waves Twitter account has revealed that Rebecca will be free to claim as an exclusive 5-Star Resonator!
