Xbox Game Pass Reveals Day-One Game For April 23

Xbox Game Pass members are getting a day-one treat as a free game on April 23, in a month that is already proving to be huge for the subscription service. A few days ago, Microsoft revealed the Wave 1 additions to the service in April, showing off things like a free upgrade for Oblivion Remastered, allowing more players to check out the revamped version of the Bethesda game, as well as the arrival of both Hades 2 and Vampire Crawlers on Xbox Game Pass.

Nearly 20 games compose the additions to the service in April 2026, and despite the fact that there are five titles leaving the catalog soon, it’s still a big month for Game Pass. The announcements were revealed through an official post on Xbox Wire earlier this week. There’s a lot to be mindful of with the announcements, but there’s a game that is a day-one release that shouldn’t go unnoticed by members.

Kiln Is A Day-One Release On Game Pass

The New Title Developed By Double Fine Arrives Soon

As part of the Wave 1 April additions to Xbox Game Pass, Kiln is a day-one release on the service. Created by Double Fine Productions, the developers behind the award-winning Psychonauts 2 and the remarkable Keeper, Kiln is an action-based party game that will allow you to create your own pots using a pottery wheel, which serve as armor for the spirits you control. The shape and size of your pot determine your abilities and how you play.

The new free game on Xbox Game Pass is a multiplayer PvP experience in which you engage in 4v4 combat. The intention is that you craft your pots alongside your friends, each with different abilities to ensure victory over the opposing team. While you are not battling, you can practice with your pots and customize them with decorations to make them unique. For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, this game will be 100% free as soon as it is released on April 23.

While Kiln is a remarkable day-one release on Xbox Game Pass that you should definitely keep on your radar, there’s a lot more to keep an eye out for in April. Microsoft has revealed that Vampire Crawlers is a day-one release on April 21, a week after the release of Hades 2 for the Ultimate and Premium tiers. Replaced is also a day-one release on April 14, and Oblivion Remastered joins the Premium catalog. On April 17, members will also gain access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

There are many other games that haven’t even been mentioned, and this is only Wave 1 in April. While Wave 2 may not have nearly 20 free additions to the catalog, any new games will significantly enhance the value of your subscription in what is building up to be the strongest year for Xbox Game Pass so far, despite its recent price increases.
