Arsenal are reportedly exploring a move for highly rated Serbian youngster Vasilije Novicic, with a potential deal believed to be in the region of 5.5 million pounds as the club continues to invest in emerging talent.

Novicic is a 17 year old midfielder currently playing for FK IMT Novi Beograd. Despite his age, he has already picked up senior experience in the Serbian top division and has caught attention with his maturity on the pitch. He typically operates as a defensive midfielder, reading the game well, breaking up play and keeping things simple in possession. There is also a confidence to his passing, particularly when moving the ball forward under pressure.

Arsenal see him as a long term project rather than someone expected to step straight into the first team. That fits with the approach under Mikel Arteta, where the club has placed a strong emphasis on signing younger players and developing them internally. Novicic would likely spend time adjusting either within the academy setup or out on loan before pushing closer to the senior squad.

Clubs across Europe have started to monitor his progress, and players coming out of Serbia often represent good value in the market. The reported fee reflects both his potential and the relative affordability compared to more established targets.

It is still early days in terms of concrete negotiations, but the link makes sense. Arsenal continue to build with one eye firmly on the future, and Novicic is the kind of profile they have shown interest in repeatedly over the past few seasons.
