21yo Man Utd star poised to start in defence vs Sabah

Dorgu to start at left-back vs Sabah

Manchester United star Patrick Dorgu could return to his regular left-back position when the Red Devils host Sabah in the Champions League on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old has played exclusively as a left winger under manager Michael Carrick this year, but he looks poised to return to his customary defensive role against Sabah tomorrow.

Luke Shaw has been ever-present as a left-back for the Red Devils, and he has started every Premier League game since the beginning of last season.

However, the manager is likely to start him on the bench in midweek, given his workload needs to be managed with extra European matches.

Shaw was absent from training earlier today as a result and he could be limited to a cameo tomorrow with Dorgu starting as a left-back.

Aside from Dorgu, the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Andrey Santos and Noussair Mazraoui could make the starting XI for the encounter.

Carrick has hinted at possible rotation for the Champions League clash, considering the club face Manchester City in the league on Sunday.
