Young striker signs and is sent on loan immediately

Manchester United have snapped up young striker Enzo Kana-Biyik from Le Havre.

The arrival of the 18-year-old continues United’s attempts to target the best up-and-coming talent in Europe in the hope they develop into first-teamers in the future.

Kana-Biyik will further his development in Switzerland next season after being sent to Lausanne-Sport on a loan deal.

‘Emerging talent’ Kana-Biyik sent to Switzerland

A United statement read: “Manchester United have completed the signing of exciting young forward Enzo Kana-Biyik.

“Last season, the France youth international scored nine goals in 18 games for Le Havre’s Under-19s team and earned a place on the bench for the first team on two occasions.

“Following the signing of his contract, the emerging talent has secured a loan switch to Swiss Super League side, Lausanne-Sport.

“Everyone at United would like to welcome Enzo to the club and wish him the very best of luck for his loan.”

No breakthrough in Mbeumo pursuit

United’s attempts to strengthen their first-team squad have not proved as fruitful this summer.

A deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolves was completed early on in the window while young full-back Diego Leon joined from Cerro Porteno.

However, a move for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo continues to drag on with United not yet reaching the London club’s demands for the 25-year-old while there is no sign of the centre-forward the club desperately require.
