Ghost of Yōtei joins Death Stranding 2 as the second big PlayStation 5 exclusive of 2025, but there’s a chance that it will make its way to PC as well. Despite building its gaming reputation on cinematic exclusives, Sony has released many of its biggest first-party games on PC in recent years.
God of War, Horizon, and Marvel’s Spider-Man are among the big names that remain PlayStation console exclusives, but have seen great success in the PC market. Ghost of Yōtei is a heavy hitter for the PS5, important enough to get its own limited-edition consoles, but Sony would be leaving money on the table by keeping it a platform exclusive forever.
Will Ghost Of Yotei Be On PC?
There’s No Official Confirmation
At the time of writing, there has been no official word on Ghost of Yōtei coming to PC. The most important indicator, though, is its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, which did get a PC release. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut was released for PC, including the Iki Island expansion and a variety of platform-specific enhancements, like ultrawide support, unlocked frame rate, and mouse and keyboard controls. Simply because the series already has a presence on PC, it seems likely that Ghost of Yōtei will eventually be released on the platform.

There are some clear outliers in the Time Difference column: the two Uncharted games were remastered for PS5 years after their initial release and brought to PC shortly thereafter; two re-releases, Until Dawn‘s remake and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, came to PC concurrently; and The Last of Us Part 1 is notably a remake of a game that first released in 2013. The rest is a mixed bag, usually making the jump between one and four years after initial launch.
The best stand-in for Ghost of Yōtei would likely be Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, which released on PC roughly two years and nine months after it arrived on PS5. For newer games, though, Sony has shrunk the turnaround, with God of War Ragnarök, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade all making the jump in less than two years. Given the data, it’s safe to say Ghost of Yōtei will not come to PC in 2025.
This is purely speculation, but my gut instinct says Sony would aim for a pre-holiday PC release in late 2026 or 2027. Looking at the various PC release dates, though, that doesn’t seem to be a pattern. In my own personal assessment of Ghost of Yōtei, it’s up there with God of War, Horizon, and Spider-Man as one of PlayStation’s biggest franchises – The Last of Us would be too, but its many re-releases muddy the data too much for this comparison.
Looking at the more recent PC releases for those franchises, Ghost of Yōtei could come to PC anywhere between one year and a few months, and just over two years after its PS5 release on October 2, 2025. Only Sony knows, though, and at this point, it’s possible the company hasn’t even set a release window for a potential PC version. Sucker Punch and Sony are likely prioritizing the initial PS5 release of Ghost of Yōtei before looking ahead to a PC release – if one is even happening.
