Hotel Costiera

New Release on September 24, 2025

Hotel Costiera is the latest original action comedy series to hit Amazon Prime Video this week. The series, which consists of six total episodes, will be released in full on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) stars in Hotel Costiera as Daniel De Luca, a half-Italian ex-marine who returns home to Italy and spends his time solving problems at a luxurious coastal hotel in Positano. De Luca is tasked with finding the hotel owner’s daughter after she suddenly goes missing.

Fans of crime mysteries set in a tropical or luxurious setting, such as HBO’s The White Lotus or Rian Johnson’s Knives Out movies, will surely enjoy the intriguing yet light-hearted tone of Hotel Costiera. The series also stars Alejandra Onieva, Jean-Hugues Anglade, Jordan Alexandra, and Maria Chiara Giannetta.

Hotel Costiera has the potential to be one of the biggest streaming hits on Amazon Prime Video this week and could be the first big streaming hit of the fall for the platform. Like Butterfly Ballard, and Countdown before it, Hotel Costiera is yet another great action/crime series in the Prime Video arsenal that is definitely worth checking out this week.

The English

Critically acclaimed starring Emily Blunt

The English won’t take you all week to watch, but it can definitely keep you entertained for at least a few days. Starring Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, The Smashing Machine), The English is a Western revenge story set in the Old West landscape of 1890 America.

Blunt stars as an Englishwoman named Cornelia Locke who teams up with an ex-cavalry scout named Eli Whipp to find and kill a man who is responsible for the death of her son. In the same vein as the classic Western revenge movie Unforgiven, The English is a timeless tale of balancing the scales of justice.

The English is only six episodes long, making it perfect to get through in just a few sittings. Released in 2022, it earned a solid Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% from both critics and audiences. If you’re a fan of Emily Blunt but haven’t seen The English yet, then you’re surely missing one of her most iconic performances.

Collider noted that “The English resonates with its gritty, lived-in atmosphere, and it never loses sight of the humanity at the heart of this tragic tale.” RogerEbert.com called it “A genre exercise with fantastic performances and film-caliber technical elements. Western fans definitely won’t want to miss it.”

The Bondsman

Kevin Bacon show gone too soon

Kevin Bacon’s The Bondsman was canceled after just one season earlier this year, but it’s still worth checking out for fans of supernatural horror shows. Bacon stars as a resurrected bounty hunter named Hub Halloran who gets another shot at life, ordered by the Devil to hunt demons and send them back to Hell.

The Bondsman earned an 84% Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score and was mostly well-received by audiences, but that wasn’t enough for Amazon to renew the series for a second season. It dropped all 8 of its season 1 episodes back in April, and is not expected to expand any further than that.

CBR gave the series an 8/10, noting “Prime Video and Blumhouse Television have served up a well-cast horror romp that will keep audiences entertained up until the last minute.” The Hollywood Reporter also gave The Bondsman a positive review, attesting that the series works “thanks primarily to Kevin Bacon’s effortlessly winning lead turn as Hub Halloran.”

If you enjoyed Bacon’s recent performances in series like Netflix’s Sirens and Ti West’s MaXXXine, or are a longtime fan of his from the days of Footloose and are interested in seeing him in modern roles, then giving The Bondsman a shot could be one of the best decisions you make this week.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Most viewed series on Prime last week

If you’ve been an Amazon Prime Video subscriber for a while now, chances are you’ve already seen the trailer for the streamer’s popular teen drama series, The Summer I Turned Pretty. While it’s a coming-of-age tale aimed at young adults, there’s something in the series for everyone to enjoy.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the book by Jenny Han, who also created the series for Amazon. The series originally premiered in 2022 and just recently released its third season. Although season 3 was released back in July, the season finale dropped last Wednesday, making The Summer I Turned Pretty the most-watched series on the entire streaming platform.

Don’t expect anything groundbreaking when tuning into The Summer I Turned Pretty, but there is something about it that makes it very bingeable and a good comfort show that doesn’t make you think too hard. Not everyone is up for a heavy docudrama or award-winning miniseries all the time, which is exactly where this particular brand of series comes in.

The initial premise follows a girl named Belly, played by Lola Tung, who gets caught in a love triangle between two brothers, leading to her first romance and her first heartbreak. The show is rooted in an incredibly relatable coming-of-age premise that will likely feel insightful or nostalgic depending on the viewer.

The Summer I Turned Pretty earned a Rotten Tomatoes score of 78% for its three seasons collectively, but season 3 has the highest rating of them all with a score of 90%. Those who appreciated Netflix’s romantic drama Forever will surely find some similarities between that acclaimed show and The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Code Of Silence

Brilliant miniseries with 100% RT score

Code of Silence is one of the best new series streaming on Amazon Prime Video, regardless of genre. A Britbox original, Code of Silence is a gripping crime drama that consists of seven episodes, making it perfect for a binge-watch this week.

The series follows an experienced lip-reader named Alison Brooks, played by Rose Ayling-Ellis, who helps the police by lip-reading conversations between dangerous criminals. While she’s determined to see the investigation through, she finds herself falling for one of the suspects.

Code of Silence earned a perfect 100% Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score. Collider gave the series 8/10 stars, noting “Code of Silence’s debut season cements itself as an instant classic: compelling, entertaining, and trailblazing, with Ayling-Ellis’ unmissable star turn as the best boon of all.”

In the same vein, The Globe and Mail wrote in their positive review, “It’s a unique twist on the traditional crime thriller, with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. However, it’s the strong performances, quick pace and creative visuals that make this one worth streaming.”

If you’re looking for a thrilling and unexpectedly romantic watch this week with a strong story and great performances, then Code of Silence is one of your best options exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
