As the Fantastic Four and Marvel’s finest continue to fight back, Doctor Doom keeps his enemies at bay with Marvel Comics’ best power.
In Fantastic Four #3 by Ryan North and Humberto Ramos, glimpses into the past reveal how closely Marvel’s First Family and the entire Marvel Universe have come to beating the current Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Doom. Sadly, with the current power at his disposal, Doctor Doom can rewind time a bit and weasel out of any danger he’s in.
No matter how close he comes to defeat, Doctor Doom uses time magic to set back the clock to develop a proper counterattack. His most recent counterattack has sent the team’s Time-Sled back in time, where the Fantastic Four discover it damaged and imprinted with a message in braille warning them of the horrors Doom is about to bring.
Doctor Doom Has Become Undefeatable Thanks to Time Magic
No Power Is Greater Than a Magic Reset Button
With Doctor Doom more powerful than ever and seizing the world, the Fantastic Four went after their old enemy, who scattered them all throughout time. Thanks to a contingency placed by Mister Fantastic, the team reunited and made their way back, only to discover Doom has been repeatedly resetting time to prevent the Fantastic Four from beating him.
As the Sorcerer Supreme, Doom has a lot of power at his disposal. But the truth is, the power to reset time is really all he needs. Once the heroes reveal their plans to defeat him, all Doom needs is a half-second to activate his powers and make it so that he’s always had a counter in-place.
Can Anything Defeat Doctor Doom and His Time Powers?
Or is the Marvel Universe Truly Doomed to Repeat This Endless Cycle?
It’s hard to think of a way that the Fantastic Four or any Marvel heroes can counter time magic. Doom was already a top-tier foe, but this gives him an advantage that feels impossible to overcome. Hopefully, this message to the past helps the Fantastic Four develop a new plan. Otherwise, Doom will never let the Marvel Universe go.Fantastic Four #3 is available from Marvel Comics on September 13th.
