Liverpool have agreed on a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike during the summer transfer window, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Merseyside giants have been searching for a new marksman over the last few weeks and they have eventually opted to land Ekitike from Eintracht.
The Frenchman was initially on the radar of Newcastle United, but the Reds managed to hijack the pursuit. Ekitike had no second thoughts about joining them.
He has now been permitted to travel to Merseyside for his medical. The Premier League champions will pay a fixed fee of €90m with €5m in bonuses.
Ekitike is a very talented striker. He registered 22 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for Eintracht during the previous campaign.
It remains to be seen whether the former Paris Saint-Germain man can hit the ground running at Anfield, given he will need some time to adapt.
His arrival is expected to pave the way for Darwin Nunez‘s exit.
