Kane breaks Ronaldo and Haaland record in Bayern rout as Marseille go top of Ligue 1

Harry Kane reached a century of goals for Bayern Munich as they continued their perfect start to the Bundesliga season with a 4-0 rout of Werder Bremen.

Bayern made it five wins from five with a routine win at the Allianz Arena, which belonged to talisman Kane.

Jonathan Tah gave Bayern the lead in the 22nd minute when he flicked home Michael Olise’s low cross.

Kane made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after he was felled by Werder captain Marco Friedl.

And his 100th for Bayern came in the 65th minute when he fired into the bottom-right corner, becoming the quickest player to reach three figures for any club in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Kane achieved the feat in 104 games, breaking the record of 105 set by Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Konrad Laimer rounded off a perfect night for Bayern with a superb finish into the far corner three minutes from the end of normal time.

Strasbourg 1-2 Marseille

Strasbourg and Marseille both had the chance to go top of Ligue 1 when they faced off in Alsace.

Marseille were riding high from a rare win over Paris Saint-Germain in Le Classique on Monday, but it was Strasbourg, having seen Emanuel Emegha have a goal disallowed for offside in the first half, who took the lead four minutes into the second.

Emegha was at the heart of things again as he chased down a long ball and squared for Abdoul Ouattara to break the deadlock, his goal allowed to stand having initially been ruled out for offside against Emegha.

Marseille eventually found a route back into the game in the 78th minute, however, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted on the rebound after being denied by a Mike Penders save.

And Marseille completed the turnaround in the 91st minute, Michael Murillo firing in after Emerson Palmieri’s effort had been tipped onto the crossbar by Penders.

Marseille are at the front of a group of five teams tied on 12 points at the top, with Strasbourg the final team of that quintet in fifth. PSG, Monaco and Lyon all have the chance to leapfrog Roberto De Zerbi’s men this weekend.
