In a standout moment on Day 4 of the Lord’s Test between England and India, pace stalwart Jasprit Bumrah produced a picture-perfect delivery to clean up Brydon Carse. The dismissal once again highlighted Bumrah’s remarkable ability to deliver under pressure and dismantle the stumps with precision and control.

In the 56th over of England’s second innings, with India eager to wrap things up quickly, Bumrah produced a sensational moment that underlined his class. Bowling with pace and precision, Bumrah delivered an inch-perfect yorker to castle Carse and finally open his account in the innings. The ball was speared in at high speed, and Carse, slightly late in bringing his bat down, possibly played down the wrong line. The result was inevitable—the ball went past his bat and crashed into the base of the leg stump.

It was a dismissal that had been building up for some time, as Bumrah had consistently drawn the highest number of false shots in the innings. The breakthrough was well-deserved and perfectly timed, sending a clear message that India were in no mood to let up. The wicket marked another step toward closing out the match, with England continuing to crumble at Lord’s.

England batters crumble under pressure on Day 4

In the post-lunch session on Day 4 at Lord’s, India tightened their grip on the Test as England’s batting lineup crumbled under relentless pressure. The pitch continued to offer more assistance to the bowlers, and the Indian attack exploited every opportunity with precision and patience. Washington Sundar was the star of the session, claiming key wickets including Joe Root and Jamie Smith, finishing with four scalps. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah also made important breakthroughs, each picking up two wickets.

England’s batters struggled to build partnerships, and wickets fell steadily as the visitors maintained their discipline. Eventually, England were bowled out for a modest total of 192 runs in just over 62 overs. Root’s 40 was the highest individual score, but it wasn’t enough to steady the innings.
