Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a big injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Newcastle United on the road on Sunday.
The Gunners have had a good start to the campaign with 10 points from five games, but they are already five points behind runaway leaders Liverpool.
Hence, Arteta’s side can’t afford to drop more points on the road. Ahead of Sunday’s game, the Spaniard has provided good news on the fitness front.
Odegaard started training after his shoulder injury earlier this week, and Arteta has said that he is optimistic about the Norwegian’s availability.
He said: “Martin will be training with us the next two days so hopefully he’ll be available for the game.”
Arteta went with Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Mikel Merino as his midfield three in the first half against Manchester City. He was accused of being cautious with his tactics.
Eberechi Eze‘s introduction at the break to replace Merino turned the momentum in the Gunners’ favour. Arsenal need to play on the front foot if they want to beat the Magpies.
