Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is one of the three stars approaching the end of their contracts at the club, and despite stating he’d love to continue in the red shirt and various rumours, no reliable source has reported a breakthrough in the negotiations over a new deal.

As the Dutch defender left the pitch after scoring Liverpool’s fourth goal in their win over Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal, the Anfield crowd made their feelings towards him known once more.
