You Guys Consistently F–ked With Me

The cast of Supernatural is reflecting on The CW series for its 20th anniversary in September, and they’ve revealed which actor broke character the most often while on set. For those who kept up with all 15 seasons of Supernatural, the revelation may not come as a surprise. It does comically confirm the dynamics between the actors, though, adding to the overall charm.

Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins sat down with TV Insider for the series’ big milestone, and the interviewer asked which of them most frequently broke character. Even the person conducting the interview suspected it was Collins, and Ackles confirmed, “There was a substantial commitment to breaking Misha.

Collins confirmed as much, noting that his co-stars regularly messed with him on set. He even received advice to work around it, which is hilarious to learn in hindsight:

“You guys consistently f**ked with me. And I never developed the skill of keeping it together. Dave Riopel, who was our dolly operator, very earnestly came up to me and was like, ‘Misha, can I offer you a suggestion? When they’re doing that, just think in your head how much you hate them.’ And he said it like, ‘Obviously, you do hate them.'”

What Misha Collins Breaking Character Meant For Supernatural

The Cast’s Chemistry & Humor Was Evident On-Screen

It’s clear the Supernatural cast got up to some hilarious antics behind-the-scenes, and their chemistry and humor are evident in their performances. There’s a reason stars like Padalecki, Ackles, and Collins were able to bounce off each other so well on-screen — and it’s likely due to their friendships and silliness behind the camera.

Supernatural Cast Shares What Their Perfect Revival Would Look Like – And It’s Basically Just The Boys

The cast and crew of Supernatural have thought about what a revival series would look like, and it sounds like it could look a lot like The Boys.

Collins’ Castiel is also responsible for some of the funniest moments of Supernatural, and one has to wonder how many of those were considered breaking character — or were reshot after the cast was done messing around. But some of Cas’ greatest one-liners do feel like a shift from his typical behavior, and that tends to make them even better.

It’s always fun to look back on hit shows like Supernatural and learn what was happening on set, and the series’ 20th anniversary is giving both the cast and fans ample opportunities to do so. Actors like Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins have remained in the spotlight for years, with their popularity extending well beyond Supernatural‘s ending in 2020.

Their willingness to prank and poke fun at each other is obvious, even just seeing them speak on panels and attend fan conventions.

For this reason, viewers already have an idea of what their team dynamic looks like. Their willingness to prank and poke fun at each other is obvious, even just seeing them speak on panels and attend fan conventions. It’s no surprise such things were happening while they were filming, and it only makes the series more endearing.

Such stories also make the Supernatural trio’s upcoming reunion in The Boys season 5 more exciting. It’ll be great to see them all on-screen together in a different — and even more outlandish — project than Supernatural, and there will no doubt be more stories about their time filming the Prime Video show.
